Petty concert approaches

Tom Petty, on his latest tour, will be bringing his great musical talents to Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday, February 17.

Petty, along with his band The Heartbreakers, will be performing Petty's latest hits, such as "Free Fallin'," off his newest solo album Full Moon Fever, as well as hits recorded with The Heartbreakers. The opening act for Tom Petty will feature the musical talents of Lenny Kratviz.

The concert trip is being sponsored by Augustana's CUBOM. CUBOM has decided to buy into another school's program, University of Iowa, due to the high cost of presenting such a concert at Augustana. After several attempts at producing a concert of this type at Augustana the college has run into such high costs as agent fees, warm-up costs, hosting and hotel costs, and travel costs.

The feasibility became almost impossible. This is the first time Augustana has used this program and CUBOM is hoping to continue it in the future.

The concert is being held at the University of Iowa's Carver Hawkeye Arena and will begin at 8 p.m. Augustana has access to a block of approximately 200 tickets which may be purchased at the Augustana ticket office. Tickets are $10.00 with CUBOM and $24.00 without.

The price of the ticket includes a bus ride to and from the concert as well as the concert ticket itself. Buses will be leaving Centennial Hall at 6 p.m. and will be returning to Augustana immediately following the concert.
