Tom Petty i el seu disc
"Damm the torpeders"

: Tom Petty and his disc "Damm the torpeders"
El Punt - May 21, 1980

Today we're going talk about the most awaited discs, those kind of discs that when we see them in a store window or on a magazine we immediately want to buy or, at least, listen to them.

And one of these discs is the last Tom Petty and the Heart Breaks' disc; titled "Damm the Torpedoes", it was released in France half a year ago and now it has reached our country. It's a shame that new discs reach us with such a delay and this shows that all that matters here is lumber us with the easy-selling products which are released into the market. All the songs in this disc are extremely good and, in any case, it's worth highlighting the song titled "Refugee" with pretty good arrangements belonging to the most commercial part of the album which is highly advisable.

Another of the awaited discs is Bob Seger's disc titled "Against the wind", a good disc for those who love partying like a rocker. Both Bob Seger and Tom Petty are from Detroit and that is one of the best places to "build" rock music.

And probably the most awaited disc is The Rolling Stones', which still we don't know how is it going to look like or what does it have inside. Lots of expectation has been awaken by this disc. What we do know is that it's going to have seven covers and that it's probably going to be released before summer.

As for the national market, it's worth highlighting the release of the last and best Miguel Rios' disc: "Rock Boomerang", which shows that old school never dies and that old rockers never lose their skills.

There are other also awaited discs and we're going to talk about them in the following weeks.

In other news: Chuck Berry's performance in Spain has been ensured and it's highly probable that he's going to be accompanied by his good friend Johnny "Guitar" Watson. Who's going to be the star, Chuck or Johny?
